Project Overview:
As per Offshore Energies UK guidelines and North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) regulations, decommissioning cost estimates are required throughout the development life-cycle including initial field economics, calculation of the decommissioning provision / asset retirement obligation (ARO) during the field life, decommissioning security agreements towards the end of field life, planning the cessation of production and the preparation of the decommissioning plan. Intended for application to offshore facilities in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS).
Role / Scope of Service:
Engaged by North Sea Operator to deliver a detailed analysis / Third party cost estimate of their Decommissioning Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO). The client annually reviews their decommissioning liabilities of all offshore platforms, subsea facilities, pipelines & wells associated with these assets.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) activities included:
• Operator project management
• Facilities running and owner's costs
• Well plugging & abandonment (P&A)
• Facilities and pipeline making safe
• Topside and substructure (jacket) removal
• Onshore recycling
• Subsea infrastructure (pipelines, umbilicals, equipment)
• Site remediation
• Post-decommissioning Monitoring
